Végétamère

Végétamère est un blog créé en 2020, actif à l’intersection entre la scène de l’art et le monde de la cuisine durable.
L’art accompagne l’homme depuis toujours, on le sait, vu que l’humain peut se définir comme étant le créateur d’objets signifiants non fonctionnels. Robert Filiou décréta lui, en 1967, que l’Art existait depuis 1 000 000 d’années et que son anniversaire coïncidait avec le 17 janvier de notre calendrier grégorien. En 1968, il fêta donc le 1 000 001^e anniversaire de l’art. Cette tradition de fêter l’anniversaire de l’art a été en Belgique reprise par le M HKA qui, chaque année, organise un évènement performatif et artistique à cette occasion. En 2021, cet évènement n’a pu que prendre bien entendu une forme virtuelle. C’est à cet occasion que Végétamère a été invité afin de souscrire à la tradition de la réalisation d’un gâteau d’anniversaire. Tout naturellement, cette mission fut réorientée vers la réalisation d’un tutoriel vidéo « tutorial » menée rondement par FROER. FROER, contraction symbolique de frère et sœur, est un personnage liminal, intergenre, intersexué qui collabore, librement (car la liberté et l’horreur de toute compartimentalisation sont au cœur de ses identités), avec Végétamère. En marge des considérations libertaires qui nous amènent à réfléchir en profondeur sur nos statuts d’êtres sociaux, FROER nous convie donc à la réalisation de Goblin Cakes pour célébrer l’art avec humour.

Végétamère is a blog created in 2020, active at the intersection between the art scene and the world of sustainable cooking. Art has always been around, as we know, given that to be human can be defined as being the creator of non-functional signifying objects. Robert Filiou declared, in 1967, that Art had existed for 1,000,000 years and that its birthday coincided with January 17th on our Gregorian calendar. In 1968, therefore, he celebrated the 1,000,001st birthday of art.  This tradition of celebrating art’s birthday has been taken up in Belgium by the M HKA, which organizes a performative and artistic event every year on this day. In 2021, this event could only be held in virtual form, of course. It was for this occasion that Végétamère was invited to uphold the tradition of making a birthday cake. This mission quite naturally morphed the production of a « tutorial » video, presented with aplomb by FROER. FROER, a symbolic contraction of frère and sœur (brother and sister), is a liminal, intergender, intersex character who collaborates, freely (because freedom and the horror of all compartmentalization are at the heart of their identities), with Végétamère. Along with libertarian considerations which lead us to reflect deeply on our status as social beings, FROER therefore invites us to bake Goblin Cakes, to celebrate Art with humour.
