L’exposition Brecht Evens est pressée bénéficie du support de l’Atelier Michael Woolworth.
Born in 1986 in Hasselt, Brecht Evens is a major figure in contemporary comics. A graduate of the LUCA School of Arts in Ghent, he gained recognition with The Wrong Place, awarded at the Angoulême Festival in 2011. Now based in Paris, he regularly publishes with Actes Sud, offering works with astonishing colour palettes, as seen in Panther, The City of Belgium, and his latest book The Jellyfish King.
His often dreamlike stories break free from the traditional comic panels, unfolding in vivid, colourful illustrations. Filled with poetry and humour, his narratives are inhabited by an incredible galaxy of characters, often searching for meaning.
he exhibition brings together all the works printed over the past ten years on the presses of Atelier Michael Woolworth. A unique opportunity to discover one of the leading figures of the ninth art, who breathes new life into his practice through printmaking.
