Pas de progr\u00e8s pour lui, sans une appropriation et une r\u00e9\u2011\u00e9laboration critique de notre pass\u00e9. <em>Nihil novi sub sole<\/em>. Le travail que nous pr\u00e9sentons en est une illustration efficace : <span class=\"has-inline-color has-accent-color-color\">il op\u00e8re en effet avec un humour acerbe et paradoxal, par un rapprochement et une collision signifiante entre une \u0153uvre iconique du Trecento italien et un syllogisme critique qui souligne avec une efficacit\u00e9 et une simplicit\u00e9 confondantes les impasses d\u2019une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 qui a longtemps cru au paradigme de la croissance infinie.<\/span> Dans ce contexte, il n\u2019est pas jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la dimension sculpturale, \u00e0 la fois miroir et \u00e9cran, du caisson de plexiglas qui ne puisse s\u2019interpr\u00e9ter comme une illustration de notre difficult\u00e9 \u00e0 nous emparer de ces \u00e9vidences fondamentales. <span class=\"has-inline-color has-accent-color-color\">C\u2019est le plexiglass jaune qui accroit la valence acerbe de ce MEME emprunt\u00e9 au monde de l\u2019internet : car si trait d\u2019humour il y a effectivement, il nous invite \u00e0 rire jaune de l\u2019avenir de notre civilisation, si nous n\u2019en changeons pas les paradigmes.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">English<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Based on a structural questioning on the notion of authenticity in a world dominated, in our era of a globalisation and\u00a0 internet, by the overflow of information and images that inundate us, the work of Daniel van Straalen often proceeds by strategies of appropriation. Various sources fuel his creativity and highlight the paradoxes and contradictions of our society. No progress for him, without an appropriation and a critical reworking of our past. <em>Nihil novi sub sole.<\/em> The work that we present here is an effective illustration of this: <span class=\"has-inline-color has-accent-color-color\">it operates in fact with acerbic and paradoxical humour, by a comparison and a significant contrast between an iconic work of the Italian <em>Trecento <\/em>and a critical syllogism which underscores, with a confusing efficiency and simplicity, the dead ends of a society that has long believed in the paradigm of infinite growth.<\/span> In this context, it is not even the sculptural dimension, both mirror and screen, of the plexiglass box that cannot be interpreted as an illustration of our difficulty in grasping these fundamental facts. <span class=\"has-inline-color has-accent-color-color\">It is its yellow hue which illustrates the bitter irony of this saved MEME from the net: for if it invites us to laugh, it is certainly with a slightly forced cringe that we may contemplate the future of mankind, should we not change our paradigms.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","class_list":["post-95702","extra","type-extra","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.centredelagravure.be\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/extra\/95702","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.centredelagravure.be\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/extra"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.centredelagravure.be\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/extra"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.centredelagravure.be\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=95702"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
