Fascin\u00e9e par la science\u2011fiction mais aussi par les notions de rituel et de don<\/span> tels que d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s par l\u2019anthropologue Marcel Mauss, Chlo\u00e9 Van Oost articule son travail autour de notions de care<\/em>\/<\/span>de soin du corps, dans une acception volontiers augment\u00e9e de ce dernier, que ce soit par des conventions esth\u00e9tiques ou des proth\u00e8ses technologiques. Elle utilise par contre pour ce faire des objets d\u2019esth\u00e9tique low cost<\/em>, \u00e0 l\u2019oppos\u00e9 des objets high tech<\/em>, tels que nano\u2011robots, proth\u00e8ses ou cerveaux connect\u00e9s, toujours r\u00e9serv\u00e9s actuellement \u00e0 une \u00e9lite. Ces objets\/gadgets questionnent l\u2019imaginaire dominant de soin, de bien\u2011\u00eatre, de d\u00e9veloppement personnel, voire de transhumanisme en proposant une narration de science\u2011fiction alternative, qui puise ses forces dans des gestes simples.

Sa proposition pour Bye Bye His\u2011Story, chapter 5050<\/em>, s\u2019articule autour d\u2019une installation sculpturale se d\u00e9ployant \u00e0 l\u2019occasion d\u2019une performance de nail art ritualis\u00e9, Specific\u2011Nails\u2011for\u2011Body\u2011Prayers<\/em>.<\/span> Une valise\u2011\u00e9tui se d\u00e9ploie en tapis de rituel et table de divination \u00e0 l\u2019occasion d\u2019activations qui peuvent aussi ad libitum prendre la forme de s\u00e9ances divinatoires. Combinant en quelque sorte les techniques de la gravure et de la s\u00e9rigraphie, le\u00b7a participant\u00b7e peut puiser dans un r\u00e9pertoire de matrices (ou se voir attribuer l\u2019un d\u2019elles) grav\u00e9es d\u2019un suffixe linguistique plus ou moins expressif. <\/span>Ces matrices miniatures seront enduites d\u2019un vernis color\u00e9, transpos\u00e9 ensuite par tampon sur l\u2019un des deux doigts qu\u2019il\/elle aura pr\u00e9alablement choisis. Il\/elle portera la trace de cette s\u00e9ance de soin divinatoire pendant quelques semaines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fascinated by science fiction but also by the notions of ritual and gift exchange<\/span> as developed by the anthropologist Marcel Mauss, Chlo\u00e9 Van Oost articulates her work around notions of care or care<\/span> of the body, intentionally augmenting the meaning of the latter, whether through aesthetic conventions or technological prostheses. On the other hand, she uses low-cost aesthetic objects to do this, as opposed to high-tech objects, such as nano-robots, prostheses or connected brains, still currently reserved for an elite. These objects\/gadgets question the dominant imagination of care, well-being, personal development, even transhumanism by offering a narration of alternative science fiction, which draws its strength from simple acts.

Her contribution for Bye Bye His-Story, chapter 5050<\/em>, revolves around a sculptural installation unfolding in a ritualized nail art performance, Specific-Nails-for-Body-Prayers<\/em>.<\/span> A carrying case is used as a ritual mat and divination table during performances which can also take the form of improvised divinatory sessions. Combining in a sense the techniques of engraving and screen printing, the participant can draw upon a repertoire of plates (or be assigned one of them) engraved with a more or less expressive linguistic suffix.<\/span> These miniature stencils are coated with a coloured varnish, then transposed by stamping technique on one of the two fingers that the subject will have previously chosen.
