La force de celui\u2011ci r\u00e9side pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment dans le caract\u00e8re liminal et l\u2019ambigu\u00eft\u00e9 du trait souvent forc\u00e9 qu\u2019elle applique \u00e0 ces situations. Son intelligence consistera \u00e0 brouiller ensuite les pistes et\/ou \u00e0 faire prendre conscience au spectateur que le caract\u00e8re absurde, cocasse, voire parfois potache mais toujours assum\u00e9 de ses prises de position n\u2019est assur\u00e9ment pas aussi absurde qu\u2019il n\u2019y en a l\u2019air. En d\u2019autres termes, <em>food for thought<\/em>.<br><br><span class=\"has-inline-color has-accent-color-color\">Les \u0153uvres que nous pr\u00e9sentons ici s\u2019inscrivent dans le projet global des <em>\u00c9ditions de la Fin du Monde<\/em>,<\/span> v\u00e9ritable maison d\u2019\u00e9dition, doubl\u00e9e d\u2019un site internet de vente en ligne, et collection d\u2019objets du quotidien en pl\u00e2tre ou en terre cuite qu\u2019elle pr\u00e9sente avec humour comme des \u00ab&nbsp;vestiges (\u2026) <span class=\"has-inline-color has-accent-color-color\">t\u00e9moignages \u00e9mouvants&nbsp;\u00bb d\u2019un monde destin\u00e9 <em>a priori<\/em> \u00e0 dispara\u00eetre.<\/span> Des objets d\u00e9fonctionnalis\u00e9s <span class=\"has-inline-color has-accent-color-color\">dont elle sugg\u00e8re de nouveaux usages<\/span> mais qui ne sont pas pour autant des \u0153uvres d\u2019art et ne sont d\u2019ailleurs ni sign\u00e9es ni num\u00e9rot\u00e9es. Objets liminaux ou plut\u00f4t \u00ab&nbsp;quasi\u2011objets&nbsp;\u00bb, \u00ab&nbsp;ni \u0153uvres, ni fictions ni objets d\u00e9coratifs ni accessoires utiles&nbsp;\u00bb, il revient \u00e0 l\u2019acheteur d\u2019identifier ou construire l\u2019usage plus ou moins symbolique qui leur convient le mieux. <span class=\"has-inline-color has-accent-color-color\">De l\u2019aveu de l\u2019artiste, ils constituent un pari, sans aucune garantie de retomb\u00e9e positive, sur la fin du monde, celui du moins tel que nous le connaissons,<\/span> tout en contribuant \u00e0 la faire advenir par le geste de consommation qu\u2019ils induisent. La boucle est boucl\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">English<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Starting from an essentially performative practice, but which also encompasses films and, more recently, objects and installations, too, in her own words, Clara Thomine likes to invent or create \u201calmost normal\u201d situations, in which she proceeds to prise apart their incongruity and the pretences we uphold, by instilling an indeterminate degree of working fiction into reality. Its strength lies precisely in the liminal character and ambiguity of the often-forced trait it applies to these situations. Her intelligence will then consist of blurring the lines and\/or making the viewer aware that the absurd, comical, even sometimes off-beat character of her positions is certainly not as absurd as it seems. In other words, food for thought. <br><br><span class=\"has-inline-color has-accent-color-color\">The works that we present here are part of the global project of <em>\u00c9ditions de la Fin du Monde<\/em>, a real publishing house, coupled with an online sales website, and a collection of everyday objects in plaster or clay that she presents with humour as \u201c<em>vestiges (\u2026) t\u00e9moignages \u00e9mouvants&nbsp;\u00bb<\/em><\/span>&nbsp;[vestiges (\u2026) moving testimonies]\u201d <span class=\"has-inline-color has-accent-color-color\">of a world that is implicitly destined to disappear.<\/span> De-functionalized objects for which she suggests new uses but which are not as such works of art and are neither signed nor numbered. Liminal objects or rather &#8220;quasi-objects&#8221;, &#8220;neither works, nor fictions, nor decorative objects nor useful accessories&#8221;, it is up to the buyer to identify or construct the more or less symbolic use that suits them best. <span class=\"has-inline-color has-accent-color-color\">By the artist&#8217;s own admission, they constitute a gamble, without any guarantee of a positive impact, on the end of the world, at least as we know it, while contributing to making it happen through the act of consumption that they induce. <\/span>And so, we come full circle.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","class_list":["post-95697","extra","type-extra","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.centredelagravure.be\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/extra\/95697","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.centredelagravure.be\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/extra"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.centredelagravure.be\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/extra"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.centredelagravure.be\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=95697"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
