L\u2019oeuvre prot\u00e9iforme d\u2019Eleni Kamma explore la migration des formes, des symboles, des syst\u00e8mes de repr\u00e9sentation, de narration et de classification des \u00e9l\u00e9ments culturels et naturels d\u2019un champ culturel \u00e0 l\u2019autre, d\u2019une aire culturelle ou d\u2019une \u00e9poque \u00e0 l\u2019autre. Pour l\u2019artiste, les discontinuit\u00e9s et les contradictions des syst\u00e8mes de repr\u00e9sentation et de narration r\u00e9v\u00e8lent les probl\u00e9matiques des notions d\u2019authenticit\u00e9, de m\u00e9moire et d\u2019identit\u00e9 dans leur essence de concepts et de ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes culturels construits et toujours in the making<\/em>.

C\u2019est ainsi qu\u2019elle s\u2019int\u00e9resse de fa\u00e7on r\u00e9currente \u00e0 la fois aux actualisations contemporaines du concept grec de parrhesia<\/em>, de prise de parole franche candide et directe dans l\u2019espace public<\/span> comme aux d\u00e9tournements et aux manipulations de cette derni\u00e8re. C\u2019est en ce sens que le projet que nous vous pr\u00e9sentons trouve toute sa pertinence.

Dans ce contexte, Eleni Kamma a en effet commissionn\u00e9 \u00e0 plusieurs auteurs l\u2019\u00e9criture d\u2019une situation fictionnelle se situant entre canular et interpellation politique. Nous pr\u00e9sentons ici les props<\/em> et le texte \u00e0 performer d\u2019un texte \u00e9crit par Margot Van Linde The Romantic Activist<\/em>, s\u2019inspirant d\u2019un personnage caricatural The Angry<\/em><\/span> (le f\u00e2ch\u00e9) que Kamma lui avait propos\u00e9. La pancarte et les podiums sont pr\u00eats, le texte de Van Linde se d\u00e9voile dans ses premi\u00e8res phrases et nous aimerions vous inviter \u00e0 assister \u00e0 cette performance surprise qui se d\u00e9roulera dans l\u2019espace public louvi\u00e9rois lors du WE de finissage de l\u2019exposition.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eleni Kamma’s protean work explores the migration of shapes, symbols, systems of representation, narration and classification of cultural and natural elements from one cultural field to another, from one cultural area or from one era to another. These areas of investigation place particular emphasis on the significance of the interstice and the semantic gap. For the artist, the discontinuities and contradictions of the systems of representation and narration reveal the problems inherent to the notions of authenticity, memory and identity as concepts and cultural phenomena that are constructed and constantly in the making.

Thus, she is recurrently interested both in contemporary updates of the Greek concept of parrhesia<\/em>, of free and direct speech in the public space, and in its diversions and manipulations.<\/span> It is in this sense that the project that we present to you assumes its full relevance.

In the present context, Eleni Kamma commissioned a number of authors to write a fictional situation that hovers somewhere between a hoax and a political question round.<\/span> Here, we present the props and the performance text of a text written by Margot Van Linde, The Romantic Activist<\/em>, inspired by a cartoonish character, The Angry<\/em>, that Kamma proposed to her.
