S\u2019\u00e9laborant souvent au d\u00e9part de sources d\u2019archives et de faits divers, ses propositions r\u00e9sultent d\u2019un processus de r\u00e9\u2011\u00e9laboration fictionnalis\u00e9e s\u2019apparentant \u00e0 un travail de reconstitution ou de d\u00e9placement aussi minutieux qu\u2019\u00e9vasif. <span class=\"has-inline-color has-accent-color-color\">Dans la s\u00e9rie de <em>Pliures<\/em> que nous pr\u00e9sentons ici, de d\u00e9licates et chatoyantes impressions digitales sur foulards de soie, le potentiel suggestif et dramatique des clich\u00e9s mis en sc\u00e8ne et pris par Geoffray est accentu\u00e9 par un geste simple \u00e0 la fois pr\u00e9cis, radical et d\u00e9licat&nbsp;: celui, attendu, de plier le foulard,<\/span> mais en cr\u00e9ant ainsi dans la repr\u00e9sentation un chiasme interstitiel dans lequel notre imagination peut projeter <span class=\"has-inline-color has-accent-color-color\">la charge narrative d\u2019un suspens dramatique.<\/span> Cette violence larv\u00e9e du geste est \u00e0 la fois adoucie et exacerb\u00e9e par contraste par la pr\u00e9ciosit\u00e9 du support de l\u2019image ainsi que par le caract\u00e8re <em>a priori <\/em>anodin, voire arch\u00e9typal du geste ou du mouvement captur\u00e9. Au\u2011del\u00e0, cet ensemble de <em>Pliures<\/em>, ainsi que le sugg\u00e8re leur pr\u00e9sentation extr\u00eamement pr\u00e9cise et articul\u00e9e fonctionne comme un ensemble o\u00f9, dans une connivence d\u2019atmosph\u00e8re, des liens s\u00e9mantiques et narratifs, ouverts, se tissent de l\u2019un \u00e0 l\u2019autre. En r\u00e9alit\u00e9, ils fonctionnent \u00e0 la fois individuellement et en groupe, comme autant de fragments d\u2019une histoire ou d\u2019histoires qu\u2019il nous resterait \u00e0 prolonger.<br><br><span class=\"has-inline-color has-accent-color-color\">Le portfolio <em>Relire le Monde, Relier les Gens<\/em>,<\/span> produit par les Editions de la Lettre Vol\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019occasion de leur 25e anniversaire, <span class=\"has-inline-color has-accent-color-color\">reprend quant \u00e0 elle Suspens, un tirage photo capturant une mise en sc\u00e8ne performative organis\u00e9e<\/span> par Agn\u00e8s Geoffray particuli\u00e8rement interpellante. Ce suspens litt\u00e9ral exprime de fa\u00e7on paroxystique l\u2019id\u00e9e d\u2019un moment arr\u00eat\u00e9, comme suspendu au bord d\u2019une chute civilisationnelle annonc\u00e9e, entre effondrement et \u00e9l\u00e9vation, \u00e9vocation suggestive d\u2019un ordre \u00e0 reconfigurer.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">English<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-accent-color-color\">Through her photos, texts and filmed works, Agn\u00e8s Geoffray develops a practice that explores the fictional and fictitious potential of multiple representations of reality.<\/span> It is in the interstitial and ambiguous space between fiction and reality that her work is positioned, resistant to any single reading. Often developed from archival sources and miscellaneous facts, her works result from a process of fictionalized recreation akin to a work of reconstitution or displacement that is as meticulous as it is elusive. Agn\u00e8s Geoffray likes assembling, confronting and colliding fragile moments or staged spatio-temporal contexts that are seemingly in a state of suspension. <span class=\"has-inline-color has-accent-color-color\">In the series of <em>Pliures<\/em> that we present here, of delicate and shimmering digital prints on silk scarves, the suggestive and dramatic potential of the photographs staged and taken by Geoffray is accentuated by a simple gesture that is at the once precise, radical and delicate: the scarf is folded,<\/span> as one might expect, but this creates in the representation an interstitial chiasmus into which our imagination can project <span class=\"has-inline-color has-accent-color-color\">the narrative charge of a dramatic suspense.<\/span> This latent violence of the gesture is both softened and by contrast exacerbated by the preciousness of the image support as well as by the fundamentally innocuous, even archetypal character of the gesture or the movement thus captured. Beyond that, this set of <em>Pliures<\/em>, as their extremely precise and articulated presentation suggests, functions as a whole in which the atmosphere encourages a collusion of open semantic and narrative links from one to the other.
