{"id":95639,"date":"2021-04-28T09:22:15","date_gmt":"2021-04-28T07:22:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.centredelagravure.be\/?post_type=extra&#038;p=95639"},"modified":"2021-04-28T09:22:16","modified_gmt":"2021-04-28T07:22:16","slug":"b11","status":"publish","type":"extra","link":"https:\/\/www.centredelagravure.be\/en\/extra\/b11\/","title":{"rendered":"Marc Buchy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jouant d\u2019une strat\u00e9gie d\u2019infiltration furtive, op\u00e9rant \u00e0 la fa\u00e7on d\u2019un grain de sable venant gripper la machine et relevant de l\u2019infra\u2011visible, du fugace et de l\u2019anti\u2011spectaculaire, l\u2019\u0153uvre de Marc Buchy, jeune artiste fran\u00e7ais \u00e9tabli \u00e0 Bruxelles, questionne des id\u00e9es de transmission et de circulation (de savoirs, de valeurs, de ce qui fait \u0153uvre), leur pertinence ou, <em>a contrario<\/em>, leur inanit\u00e9. Ses \u0153uvres ne se d\u00e9ploient souvent qu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019aune du corps ou de l\u2019esprit qui active le projet, <em>id est <\/em>celui de Marc, dans une appr\u00e9hension r\u00e9solument performative. <br><br>Ces deux directions sont centrales chez Buchy et nous les rencontrons dans <em>Ka Kualmuku,<\/em> un projet qui est le r\u00e9sultat d\u2019une r\u00e9sidence qu\u2019il a effectu\u00e9e en 2018\u20112019 \u00e0 Cali en Colombie, \u00e0 Lugar A Dudas, et que nous nous vous pr\u00e9sentons ici dans le cadre de <em>Bye Bye His\u2011Story <\/em>au CGII. <span class=\"has-inline-color has-accent-color-color\"><em>Ka Kualmuku<\/em>, s\u2019est d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 autour du projet d\u2019apprendre une langue en voie d\u2019extinction, en l\u2019occurrence le Namtrik, parl\u00e9e par la communaut\u00e9 Misak (20 000 personnes)<\/span> et d\u2019en manifester de fa\u00e7on publique son processus d\u2019apprentissage comme de transmission. Ce projet souligne certes dans une perspective ambigu\u00eb \u00e0 la fois la gratuit\u00e9 de l\u2019acquisition de ce savoir dans le chef de Buchy, mais fait aussi et surtout acte de r\u00e9sistance effective et symbolique face \u00e0 l\u2019implacable logique d\u2019h\u00e9g\u00e9monie des langues dominantes. Celles\u2011ci se sont affirm\u00e9es \u00e0 la faveur du colonialisme historique et, plus encore, lors du post\u2011colonialisme globalis\u00e9 que nous connaissons actuellement. Nous avons port\u00e9 notre choix sur deux pi\u00e8ces extr\u00eamement symboliques de ce projet, \u00e0 la fois discr\u00e8tes et interpellantes. <span class=\"has-inline-color has-accent-color-color\">Un caract\u00e8re d\u2019imprimerie en plomb qui reproduit un symbole sp\u00e9cifique au Namtrik,<\/span> proche dans sa graphie du <em>th\u00e9ta<\/em> grec en moins allong\u00e9 et plus circulaire, et dont la matrice a \u00e9t\u00e9 laiss\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019imprimeur colombien qui l\u2019a r\u00e9alis\u00e9. Ce caract\u00e8re fondu en plomb \u00e9dit\u00e9 en s\u00e9rie limit\u00e9e est int\u00e9gr\u00e9 de fa\u00e7on discr\u00e8te et comme infiltr\u00e9e dans les murs m\u00eames du CGII. <span class=\"has-inline-color has-accent-color-color\">Il est accompagn\u00e9 de 5 papiers fant\u00f4mes, portant, \u00e0 l\u2019instar de papiers carbones, les empreintes \u00e0 peine lisibles des exercices d\u2019apprentissage du Namtrik par l\u2019artiste. Autant de m\u00e9taphores fragiles, mais n\u00e9anmoins effectives et r\u00e9silientes, de l\u2019oubli ou de l\u2019invisibilit\u00e9 qui guette nos actes de r\u00e9sistance individuelle \u00e0 la marche de l\u2019<em>his\u2011story<\/em>.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">English<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Marc Buchy, a young French artist based in Brussels, applies a strategy of furtive infiltration, operating like a grain of sand that jams the machine and highlights the infra-visible, the fleeting and the anti-spectacular. His work questions ideas of transmission and circulation (of knowledge, of values, of what calls into being), their relevance or, conversely, their inanity.\u00a0His works often only unfold in terms of the body or the mind that activates the project, i.e., that of Marc, in a resolutely performative understanding.<br><br>These two directions are central with Buchy and we encounter them in <em>Ka Kualmuku<\/em>, a project that is the result of a residency he did in 2018-2019 in Cali, Colombia, at <em>Lugar A Dudas<\/em>, and that we present to you here as part of <em>Bye Bye His-Story<\/em> at CGII<em>. <\/em><span class=\"has-inline-color has-accent-color-color\"><em>Ka Kualmuku,<\/em> developed around the project to learn an endangered language, in this case Namtrik, spoken by the Misak community (20,000 people) and to publicly demonstrate its learning and transmission process. <\/span>This project certainly underlines from an ambiguous perspective both the gratuity of the acquisition of this knowledge on the part of Buchy, but also and above all acts of effective and symbolic resistance in the face of the implacable logic of hegemony of the dominant languages. These languages have asserted themselves in historical colonialism and, even more so, in the globalized post-colonialism that we are currently experiencing. We have chosen two extremely symbolic pieces from this project, that are both discreet and challenging. <span class=\"has-inline-color has-accent-color-color\">A lead printing typeface that reproduces a symbol specific to Namtrik, close in its graphy to the Greek theta less elongated and more circular, and whose matrix was left to the Colombian printer who made it. It is accompanied by 5 ghost papers, bearing, like carbon papers, the barely legible imprints of the artist&#8217;s Namtrik learning exercises. So many fragile metaphors, but nevertheless effective and resilient, of the oblivion or invisibility that lie in wait for our acts of individual resistance to the march of <em>his-story.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","class_list":["post-95639","extra","type-extra","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.centredelagravure.be\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/extra\/95639","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.centredelagravure.be\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/extra"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.centredelagravure.be\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/extra"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.centredelagravure.be\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=95639"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
