THE WALLS
In the world, walls are multiplying.
The Berlin Wall was supposed to be the last, but 30 years after its fall, there are between 60 and 75 walls in the world, either already built or under construction, even in Europe, in response to globalisation: terrorism, poverty, immigration and other political or economic incursions are the reasons for this.

Apart from the political and demagogic use and profit that can be made of them, as well as the benefits that certain economic sectors derive from them, the effectiveness of the walls is more than questionable. To quote Barack Obama's former adviser, Janet Napolitano :

"You can build a 50-foot high wall if you want, there will always be someone to find a 50-foot ladder!"

More fundamentally, it is the ethical and democratic questions and issues that these buildings, symptomatic of identity-based, economic or political retreats, raise and question.

A wall oppresses, separates, compartmentalizes, opposes, at a time when the paradigm shifts induced by the various crises that humanity is going through (ecological, energy, climate, ideological, political, migratory) should on the contrary encourage us to decompartmentalize, to come together, to pool our energies, efforts and resources.

Young people, more than any other part of the population, suffer more than any other part of the population from these walls, even if the discomfort they express or provoke affects us all.

But it does not stop here:
For the health crisis we are currently experiencing and the confinement in which a third of humanity now finds itself also invites most of us to become aware of these walls.
These exceptional circumstances also invite us to reflect on these psychological and mental walls that lie in wait for us, walls behind which virtual and media reality can also lock us up, in an even more pernicious way.
