Library

Catalogues, Books, Specialist Journals, Ephemera :

Visitors can use the library and information service to access some 10,000 catalogues, books and journals about engraving and the graphic image in general, including its history and symbolism, and further information on all areas of art history. However, the bulk of the museum's documentation covers the contemporary period.

The archive is made up of some 5,000 solo exhibition catalogues, 3,000 collective exhibition catalogues and over 1,500 reference books. Some of these books (the majority of which are in French, but with some in English, Dutch and German) were bought by the museum, but most are the result of donations, or exchanges with other cultural institutions in Belgium and abroad.

Also available for consultation are around a dozen periodicals which have been collected over the years since 1984 (Grapheion, Les Nouvelles de l’Estampe, Art et Métiers du Livre, Beaux-Arts, Connaissance des Arts …).

A regularly updated section on ephemeral material completes the collection (invitation cards, leaflets, press cuttings, etc.).
